As summer is just around the corner it is now time to dust off your bike and get back on the road!
Here are just a few of the main reasons to get back on your bike this summer:
- Cycling is free!
One of the best things about travelling on your bike is that it is free! Riding your bike around instead of driving a car around could save you hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in running costs a year. Just think about were all that saved money could go forward!
- Feeling unfit?
Cycling is a brilliant way to get fit! Going to the gym can sometimes appear to be boring and repetitive however, when you jump on your bike you can go almost anywhere. You can be riding past beautiful views whilst burning loads of calories along the way. It also gives you a great excuse to get some more fresh air into your lungs!
- Have you considered joining a cycling group?
Cycling groups and clubs are a brilliant way to make friends with people that share the love of bikes just as much as you! It’s also a great way to motivate each other to increase fitness levels and it’s a lovely way to make memories you won’t forget.
- Healthy commute to work!
What a better way to travel to work in the morning then by bike! The morning travel to work in a car can sometimes leave you tired and stressed before you even begin your day, whereas riding a bike to work wakes you up and should leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day.
- Experience new places
Fancy a lovely day out experiencing new and beautiful places? Well if so, riding a bike is a great way to see amazing views that you may not be able to see on a road or a normal walking path.
- Riding a bike is easy on your knee joints
Running can sometimes put quite a lot of pressure of your knee joints however, riding a bike can really help ease the pain and feel a lot more comfortable but still provide you with a great form of exercise!
- Great excuse to spend time with the family
The summer holidays aren’t far away which means you have more time to spend with the kids! Going on a bike ride for a family day out doesn’t just get the kids away from staring at a screen all day but gives them a great form of exercise as well as time with Mum and Dad.
- Exercise in later life
We understand that as you get older, fitness can be more challenging because of health problems for example. However, as cycling takes off a lot of strain on your joints, it is an easier form of exercise for the older generation. It’s also a really great way to keep your brain active.
